Meaning:  Μῆτις, “wisdom,” “skill,” or “craft”
ORIGIN
Metis was one of the Titans, a daughter of Oceanos and Tethys. She was the first wife of Zeus, the mother of Athena, and became the goddess of wisdom, prudence and deep thought.

PURPOSE
A site describing experimental computational systems developed at the Laboratory for MEdia Technologies and Intelligent Systems (METIS) , Dept. of Digital SystemsUniversity of Piraeus, Greece.  The lab conducts research  related to media, entertainment, narrative, AI and subjective experience.
